Fundraising

The PTC oversees fundraising efforts district schools and raises funds for Innovation Grants. Innovation Grants support materials and programs that foster inclusivity; advance the discovery of new strategies for engaging students; advocate experimentation with new technologies; and implement high-impact pedagogies - such as project-based, experiential learning. Past Innovative Grants were used to purchase innovative resources including 360-Degree Cameras, Aquasprouts Garden, a traverse-climbing wall, a sculpture, Promethean Boards, mosaics, stage equipment, a movie screen with blackout shades, a StarLab and a playground.

 Fun Fair Silent Auction – Donation Information

The Avoca School District Parent Teacher Council (PTC) will be holding their Silent Auction Fundraiser on February 24, 2019, at Avoca’s annual Fun Fair. Funds raised by the PTC are used to purchase educational supplies, school equipment, and support school events in our District.

This charitable event is truly a community effort and is only possible because of the support from local businesses and families. Each year we reach out to the community for donations of merchandise, services or gift certificates. This year, we would personally like to ask that you consider donating to the Silent Auction. Previous donations include family fitness center memberships, pool and amusement park passes, local restaurant and retail gift certificates, and sporting event tickets. Whether you decide to donate a $25 Costco gift card or Cubs game tickets, each and every donation is highly appreciated. 

For your convenience, we have enclosed a donation form that you can send back with your child to school. Please contact Silent Auction Chair, Susan Lovell at susanloren123@gmail.com, or Mary Prahl at marysprahl@live.com if you require additional information or to arrange a donation pick-up or drop-off. We kindly request all donations be completed no later than January 31, 2019.
